This year, I’ve been deepening my Honor Thy Energy era like never before.

And contrary to popular belief of when is the “right” time to start honoring thy energy — it wasn’t sparked by something “bad” happening. 

For me, it all started with radically clear on my 2025 vision, some major life-as-you-know-it-changing manifestations coming in, and the simplest (and most lovingly honest) question that followed:

Where is my energy going — and are those habits, spaces, and things really support what I truly desire?

Here’s what I’ve come to understand through my decade of doing this inner work: Honor Thy Energy seasons rarely arrive because something “went wrong.”

They might feel that way, but often, they’re sparked by an inner calling towards growth, that “something more”— and recognizing that to fully receive and sustain what you’re calling in long—term, your mind, body, and nervous system need to be aligned with it.

Because if they’re not — even if your biggest desire shook your hand and said “let’s do this!”, you might not be ready for it. Not because you don’t want it, but because your system might not be prepared to receive it.

And when it comes to “honoring our energy”, the truth is: the energetic exhaustion we feel doesn’t always just come from doing too much.

It can come from doing A LOT—but in the wrong (and very subconscious) direction.

We can get into a cycle of giving our energy to the wrong things—the wrong people, tasks, and beliefs—on repeat.

Quietly. Automatically. Out of habit, guilt, people-pleasing, plain old autopilot or because we’re scared of what will (or won’t) come up when we give ourselves space.

So I created this guide to help you reclaim your energy, your focus, and your power—starting with clarity and ending with new identity.

Because honoring your energy isn’t just about rest. It’s about alignment.

Let’s get into it. 💫

Step 1: Clear the space

Start by reflecting on where you’re at.
What areas of your life feel like they need the biggest energetic shift?

Now, rank these 8 categories based on how misaligned or draining they feel right now.

1 = Needs the most attention
8 = Feels mostly good/neutral right now

  • Relationships

  • Career

  • Physical Items

  • Home / Spaces You Frequent

  • Tasks

  • Schedule

  • Habits

  • Self-Talk / Beliefs

Pick your top 3 to focus on for the next month.

Step 2: Map your energy leaks

Grab your journal and create three columns:

Column 1: What’s draining you?

List everything in your top 3 categories that feels like it drains you and leaks your energy. From small habits to big dynamics — be lovingly honest.

Examples:

  • Saying yes to plans that drain me (Relationships)

  • Tasks I say I want to do but procrastinate and then feel guilty about (Career)

  • Reoccurring meeting that could have been an email (Schedule)

  • Telling myself I’ll “start tomorrow” (Beliefs)

  • My messy closet that takes 20 minutes to sort through in the morning (Home)

  • Working through lunch and then ordering takeout because I’m starving by dinner (Habits)

Column 2: Choose a Pause Activity

These are subconscious habit interruptors — tools that break past pattern before you spiral into them (continuously wiring that habit into your mind). Keep them simple and accessible.

Examples:

  • 60 seconds of deep breathing

  • 10 jumping jacks or shaking out energy

  • A mental reframe and pattern interrupt for the necessary things — something like “ugh, I have to do….” to “Wait, I totally want to do…. because….”

  • Opening your Notes app to write out how you want to react and then what you would intentionally choose to do instead.

  • Drinking a full glass of water and stepping outside

  • Repeating a mantra like: “That’s just a past pattern. I get to choose a new energy now.”

  • Walking to a different room and changing your physical space

  • Playing a song that lifts your vibe

This is about creating a moment of choice before you default to the old loop.

Column 3: Pick a Replenishing Replacement

Here’s where we reclaim your energy by choosing a behavior that fuels you. These should be approached as little aligned energy deposits, not another thing on your to-do list.

Examples:

  • Cooking at home instead of defaulting to takeout

  • Texting a friend who uplifts you instead of doom-scrolling

  • Listening to a 5-minute meditation or podcast instead of numbing with a show

  • Going to bed 30 minutes earlier

  • Prioritizing beauty, ritual, and ease over busyness

💡 Bonus: Write your Self-Concept Statement

Once you’ve clarified your new energy blueprint, it’s time to claim the identity of the person you’re becoming.

Ask yourself:

  • Who am I becoming now that I’ve released these energy drains?

  • What do I believe about myself, my power, and what I deserve?

  • What do I no longer chase or tolerate?

  • How do I speak, move, and make decisions when I’m in full alignment?

Now complete this prompt:
“I am the kind of woman/man/person who…”

Let it be bold, honest, and present-tense. Leave it somewhere you can read it. Repeat it until you start to experience it as your truth. 

Step 3: Integrate it into your Morning

Your subconscious is most open right when you wake and right before you fall asleep. Use that powerful window to step into the day with intention.

Here’s what I recommend:

Morning Flow:

  • No phone for the first 30–60 min (let you set the vibe, not what the day is throwing at you)

  • Read your Self-Concept Statement 3x aloud — in the mirror optional but powerful.

  • Do a 5 Minute Visualization where you imagine seeing yourself going through your day through that new energy of your self-concept.

  • Take your columned list out and write down 3 daily intentions to build the habit of this version of you. For example: Today when I feel the urge to scroll, I will take 3 deep breaths and play a song instead.

Remember:

Clearing energy leaks can feel messy, like you’re doing it “wrong” or uncomfortable at first. That’s okay.

It means you’re stepping into a higher standard — for your peace, your power, and the version of you that’s ready to emerge.

You’re not just honoring your energy. You’re honoring you.

And that’s what brings you into alignment with the life you actually want.
