DIVING INTO: THE MENTAL WEIGHT OF ALWAYS FIGURING IT OUT

Let’s talk about something I see over and over again — especially with high-achievers, visionaries, and the ones everyone counts on:

You’re the go-to person. The fixer. The calm in the storm.

The one who always finds the solution. The one who “has it together.” The one who makes it look easy.

But under that calm, collected surface… is your mind always on?

Are you quietly carrying the pressure of “having the answers” for everyone else — while still trying to hold it all together for yourself?

Because let’s be sooooo real: being the reliable one can get heavy.

You’re constantly solving, managing, figuring it out — even when your body’s screaming to slow down.

I want to say something that might land deeply:

You don’t have to carry it all just because you can.

Why you're feeling this way:

We live in a world that rewards hyper-functioning and overthinking.

You’ve probably been told your whole life that being “on top of it” is admirable.
That if you’re not solving, fixing, or doing… you’re falling behind.

So your nervous system learned: stay ahead, don’t drop the ball, keep thinking, don’t rest — you’ll miss something.

But the cost of being everyone’s rock?
Is that you rarely give yourself permission to just be a human.

To not know.
To not fix.
To not force clarity before it’s ready to come through.

The truth is — most of the people I work with (especially the visionary ones) are so used to figuring things out for others…

They forget how to feel safe, not knowing for themselves.

The science behind the spiral:

Here’s what’s actually happening in your brain when you’re stuck in overthinking mode:

🧠 Overthinking = less clarity.
Chronic stress reduces your brain’s access to logic and long-term decision-making. You’re more likely to default to “safe” or familiar choices — even if they’re not aligned.

🧠 Stress hijacks your perspective.
You’re up to 80% more likely to make an emotionally driven or impulsive decision when you're stressed — because your brain literally deprioritizes rational thought.

🧠 High mental load kills creativity.
When your brain is in constant problem-solving mode, creative thinking drops by 20–30%. That makes it harder to see new ideas, solutions, or options — even when they’re right in front of you.

So ironically, the more you try to “figure it out” by thinking harder, the more stuck you feel.

And that’s where one of my favorite affirmations comes in:

“I don’t need to figure it all out right now - life will figure it out for me.”

Why this works (and no, it’s not just woo):

This simple shift does two powerful things:

  1. Interrupts the stress spiral: It signals to your nervous system: “We’re not in danger.” That single message slows the panic loop.

  2. Creates mental spaciousness:  Your brain starts scanning not for threats but for possibilities. That’s when clarity tends to arrive. Not from force, but from space.

You don’t need to work harder to see the answer.
You need to trust your capacity to receive it — once your mind is clear enough to let it land.

✏️ WAYS TO PRACTICE: THE MENTAL WEIGHT OF ALWAYS FIGURING IT OUT

1. Use the affirmation — out loud.
When you catch yourself spiraling, pause. Put a hand on your chest. Say:

“I don’t need to figure it all out right now - life will figure it out for me.”

Breathe into it, and let your body relax.

2. The Clarity Breath Reset
Close your eyes. Breathe in for 5… hold for 5… exhale for 5 …hold for 5.
Do it 5 times.
This calms your nervous system and shifts your brain out of “figure-it-out” mode and into presence.

3. Reframe the urgency.
When you feel like something has to be solved immediately, ask:

“Is this truly urgent — or just unfamiliar?”
“If I trusted the next step would become clear… what would I do right now?”

Here's what I want you to know:

You’re still wise when you don’t have the answer yet.
You’re still powerful when your mind is tired.
You’re still whole when you step back and let life support you for once.

You were never meant to do it all, hold it all, solve it all, all the time.

You’re allowed to rest. To pause. To let clarity arrive without chasing it.
You’re allowed to let yourself be supported — by your breath, your practices, and the part of you that already knows what’s next.

Trust that version of you. They’re waiting just on the other side of the noise.
