Why You Feel Overwhelmed Even When Nothing’s “Wrong”
If you’ve ever looked around at your life and thought, “Everything's fine, so why do I feel so overwhelmed?”
I hear this from my visionary, high-achieving women constantly.
They’re managing businesses, teams, relationships, households — often all at the same time — and still feel like they’re behind or not doing enough.
It’s not about capability. They know how to handle things - they’ve always been the ones who can.
What’s exhausting is the weight they’re carrying that no one sees.
The mental load of anticipating needs, holding space for others’ emotions, making decisions before anyone asks — and doing it all with ease, because that’s what they’ve always done.
Layer on the pressure to be accommodating, agreeable, thoughtful, nice, kind, empathetic, understanding, and “good” — and of course, they’re tired, even when nothing is technically wrong.
Overwhelm isn’t always about what’s on your calendar. It’s about what you’re holding silently, without support.
Inside The Muses, we explore this with a lot of honesty.
