Message #41: Science experimenting, a simple mindset shift for creating change.

You've probably heard some version of the quote:

β€œTo get different results, you must do different actions.”

Which sounds great, in theory. 

When you read it in a Pinterest quote or are feeling motivated.

Much less great when fear shows up.

When self-doubt gets louder.

When the emotional discomfort of change makes you want to pull back from the very thing you wanted in the first place.

This is why mindset work, meditation, and nervous system regulation are so powerful in actually accessing the inner security, clarity, and calm confidence to boldly go after your desires. 

But there's also a simple mindset shift I love to share with clients:

Treat whatever habit, goal, or shift you'd like to create in your life like a science experiment. 

Become the scientist creating that shift, then simply and neutrally collect data throughout the process. 

What happens if I try this for a week? 

What happens if I try this for 30 days? 

What happens if I show up differently than I normally would?

Suddenly, there's less pressure.

Less perfectionism.

Less attachment to getting it right.

And more curiosity.

Because the truth is, your brain learns through experience.

The only way to create a different result is to give it evidence that a different result is possible.

That means staying with a new behavior long enough to see what happens.

Not quitting the moment discomfort arises. Not assuming something isn't working simply because it's unfamiliar.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is stay neutral long enough to gather the data.
