Message #43: The question that reveals where you're draining your personal power

Hi love,

Many of us believe that we access our truest desires by dreaming big, thinking of that ultimate goal, or imagining the most extraordinary life we could possibly create.

But I’ve found that one of the most revealing questions you can ask yourself is this:

If there were absolutely no consequences β€” if I said f*ck it and truly did whatever I wanted today β€” what would I do?

Not what you should do.
Not what would make everyone else happy.
Not what looks responsible, productive, or impressive.

What would you do if you listened to your truth honestly and completely?

The reason why this question works so well is because many visionaries are so practiced at meeting expectations that they've stopped noticing how often they override their own needs, desires, and intuition.

When I ask clients this question, we can finally hear the real desire beneath the noise.

"I'd throw my phone into the ocean and disappear for a month."
"I'd finally say everything I've been holding back."
"I'd stop holding everything together and let someone else figure it out for once."
"I'd go after everything I want without fearing the second shoe will drop.”

Let me just say: the goal isn't to act on every impulse that arises. The goal is to start paying attention.

Because beneath every dramatic answer is usually a very valid need you've been avoiding.

The desire to disappear may actually be exhaustion.
The urge to scream may actually be unspoken resentment.
The fantasy of starting over may actually be a longing for more freedom.

Most people think cultivating self-worth is about confidence and achievement.

But self-worth is also your willingness to listen to yourself.
To take your own desires and truth seriously.
To stop dismissing what your inner voice has been trying to tell you.

This week, ask yourself:

If there were no consequences, what would I do today?

Then notice what comes up.

Not because you need to do it all, but because your truth is often hiding inside the answer.

πŸ’ Question to reflect on this week:

Reflect on the above question. What does your answer reveal about where you've been too busy, responsible, or afraid to listen to yourself?
